DEPOWA trains Military Officers Wives on Visioning and Personal Planning

The Defence and Police Officers Wives Association(DEPOWA), is holding a two day training workshop on visioning and personal planning for wives of military officers.

The training workshop which is taking place at the DEPOWA, secretariat in Abuja, is aimed at educating military wives achieve their individual dreams in Abuja.

In her address at the workshop, DEPOWA National President, Mrs Oghogho Musa, while noting the multifaceted roles military wives shoulder as mothers, professionals, and caretakers, said, balancing the demands of work, family, and personal growth often times results in an overwhelming task.

As women married to military officers who are always not available owe to the nature of their duties, Mrs Musa, said “We find ourselves entangled in a web of responsibilities, where the pursuit of our own dreams may seem unachievable. It is important to note that within each of us lies so much untapped potentials.

She said the workshop is to awaken that potential, shed light on the dreams and desires that have been dormant within them.

Represented by Mrs Helen Kangye, the DEPOWA President said “Having understood the demanding nature of our roles in the society, this empowering workshop is centered on creating balance and fulfillment in our lives as women.

Today, we gather with a common purpose—to navigate the intricate paths of our lives, to chart out actions that will lead us towards the realization of our visions and aspirations.

She said “For many, the challenge is not in the lack of ambition or clarity of purpose, but in articulating and actualizing those dreams. The magnitude of our responsibilities can cast a shadow over our aspirations, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and directionless. It is against this backdrop that this workshop was organized to address the issue of lack of visioning.

She expressed the hope that he women will take the opportunity of the workshop to engage in meaningful discussions, reflective exercises, and actionable strategies aimed at empowering each the “and take decisive steps towards our goals.

“Again, it is hoped that we will explore ways to cultivate balance in our lives, to nurture our relationships, and to cultivate a sense of fulfillment that transcends the boundaries of our daily routines.

“Together, we will dare to dream boldly, to envision a future that is as rich and vibrant as our imaginations allow. As we embark on this journey of self-discovery and empowerment, let me remind you of the words of Maya Angelou,

“We may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated.”
